At its core, Worms World Party is no different from the original Worms, which was released in 1995. The basic premise of the game is simple: You control a team of weapon-toting worms and take turns squaring off against other groups of human- or computer-controlled annelids on any number of side-view outrageous maps. Each team's worm is given a small amount of time to complete a specific set of actions, which typically include moving across the map to set up the optimum attacking location, executing the actual attack, and then retreating into relative safety. Wik & the Fable of Souls is a static platformer starring Wik, a bug-eyed creature with an extraordinarily dexterous tongue. Whether you're playing story or challenge mode, you progress through a series of screens that are filled with coins, gems, enemies, and little green grubs. You have to collect grubs with your tongue and spit them at your pack animal, Slotham, who slowly moves from left to right at the bottom of the screen. If Slotham reaches the end of the screen before you collect the required number of grubs, you lose. Luckily you can slow Slotham down by spitting puddles of honey in his path. To collect grubs, you'll have to jump, swing from your tongue, and fend off enemies that try to carry the grubs away. As if that weren't enough, some enemies can actually kill Wik, so there's the matter of self-preservation to keep in mind as well. With its charming presentation and challenging gameplay, Wik is an enchanting little game that's definitely worth checking out.

There was a time in the history of the PC that the Worms games ruled the 2D universe. Worms 2 and Worms Armageddon were both solid games where multinational teams of worms used a huge arsenal of weapons to obliterate each other as well as the environment. The transition to the third dimension proved rocky with Worms 3D, but developer Team 17 is willing to try it all again with Worms: Forts Under Siege. The majority of the action hasn't changed in the maneuvering and the fighting, but now there are buildings to add a lot more strategy to the game.

Limbo is horrifically beautiful. A monochrome purgatory painted in jet-black ink and scratches of charcoal. The screen’s peripheries glow and flicker, as if we’re peering into this world through a grainy, fish-eye lens. The gloomy background, given a sense of depth in just a wash of grey shade depicts destitution and despair. The figure of a young child hangs limply from a noose. Death is everywhere. White butterflies that flutter gently by are the only sign of hope. For all its terror and macabre, it’s mesmerising; impossible to turn away from.
It’s difficult not to talk about Limbo’s artistic vision in hushed reverie. It’s horrible, but startlingly pretty. A 2D puzzle-platformer built in black. The boy you control has a twee outline, all floppy hair and short trousers. Fill in that outline with colour and a toothy grin and he would fit right in with the Bash Street Kids. Here, he’s filled with dark nothingness, punctured only with searing white pinprick eyes.

What’s brilliant about Limbo is developer PlayDead’s refusal to let the art style become a crutch. It’s unfathomably striking, but its shadows are cast to horrify and misdirect in the context of play. Part of the grand puzzle is figuring just what lies ahead, to the right of the screen. This is what makes Limbo so unsettling; tree branches that twitch and flail, before impaling you with a gruesome thud that shatters the pervasive silence; snatches of ground that look like buttons to activate the giant crushers above, but don’t quite behave as you’d expect. It’s a world built to confound you at every turn, where nothing is quite as it seems.

The 2007 edition of cricket world cup is just round the corner. This edition of the game, released days before the beginning of The Ashes comes in a 2CD pack. The installation is straight forward and usual EA Sports setup. There is nothing extraordinary here. Once the game is installed, you get down to the business and a serious one at that. You’ll be greeted with another customary EA Sports Cricket interface. No shocks here and no visible changes from the last edition either. The interface is good, clean, simple and easy to navigate though sometimes you get the feeling that there’s no way you can reach certain parts with that keyboard of yours. It is indeed frustrating but the good old mouse comes to the rescue.

Blocks that Matter is the non-true story of two game developers who came up with a game so sought after that they were kidnapped at gunpoint and ordered to finish it. Except they weren’t working on a game at all, they were working on you.

You are Tetrobot, and if one was to describe Blocks that Matter as an enormous cliché, it would be this: it’s a love letter to gaming. Well, a love game to gaming. It loves gaming about games. Games, er, gaming? This has gone completely wrong. Moving on.

Of course, none of this love for games would carry any weight if their own game wasn’t tremendous and so, luckily, it is. The puzzle design, the graphics and the controls are top class and it comes together with so much care that there’s just everything to like. If ever there’s a sequel, they’ll have to refer to their own game among the best games containing Blocks that Matter.

With so many years of war however, the magnificence of your kingdom is now exhausted and the lands are wrapped in the dust of endless deserts. As ruler of the lands, demonstrate your greatness once again and return Egypt to its days of glory. Command workers and raise the golden cities in over 40 fantastic levels. Construct homes for the people, set up production of goods, and trade for materials. As you collect taxes to further improve the city, new challenges will arise including building monuments to the gods and keeping the people happy.
